WEEK 35
Image I left my BABY! I actually took my baby to some stranger's house and left him there! Wah. Today was the real 1st day with the Nanny. I left Kristof for a whole 2 hours. As you can in this picture of our nanny with her 2 little girls and Kristof, she is a very suspicious character.  Seriously now, it went very well, Kristof did not cry, I did not cry and Kristof did not pout or seem mad at me when I got back.

Kristof has started crawling but still with difficulty. He doesn't always remember to lift his tummy. He starts next week with his new nanny part time. WEEK 33 baby jail & great escapes

Foam Mania and Baby Jail
Image Kristof finally has a playpen to roam free of dogs and safe from white tile floors. It goes up to 7meters! I have had to reduce it to fit our current home but in the new house it will be great. I have also become addicted to buying those foam squares for the floor. And really any toys in foam as he loves sucking them when he is teething. His favorite is the foam dino book from cousins adam and ben. He pulls out the t-rex and sucks away.

The Great Escape
Today Kristof escaped once again from his exersaucer so we have had to retire this favorite toy. So glad we got the play pen just in time!

WEEK 32 KFC's 1st Thanksgiving

The Thanksgiving spirit is back!

Image
Kristof, Rody and Esther
Our Sunday Thanksgiving was a great antidote to the Thanksgiving blues I had on Thursday for the real turkey Day. With 5 babies and 10 grown-ups it was a full and noisy house, perfect for Thanksgiving. We baked all day Saturday and ate all day Sunday. Kristof was so excited seeing all his little friends together. He also learned that you can suck your toes but you can also suck your friend's toes as seen here with his pal Rody who is only 10 days older than KFC.

WEEK 31

The agony
So, I have thus far failed miserably at the letting him cry bit. It has been a week. I have managed several times to let him cry but never all night. Tonight is the night. I am writing as he cries to try to divert my attention. Look at that face. How can I let it go all red and teary and sad? How can I get Rémi to not go when I actually manage to be strong? I am actually keeping a little notepad with the exact time he starts and stops. Again, more for distraction. But, actually what seemed like hours was exactly 15 minutes. And he has gone back to sleep... maybe there is hope.

WEEK 30
Let 'im cry, let 'im cry, let 'im cry...
Image  We are in that most dreaded period where we must let our baby cry. Its absolutely unbearable. Painful. Torture. Impossible really. After all my joy when Kristof started sleeping 12 hour nights, he has now started waking every hour or two all night long. We are told we must let him learn to put himself to sleep. We must not pick him up. Mommy certainly should not nurse him. We are finally catching on, babies change constantly you can never get too comfortable in any one situation.

WEEK 29 Sickos

Sick Sick Sick. First Rémi was sick then Jeanne was sick then Jeanne was sick again and now Rémi is sick again. The good news is Kristof has not been sick. Knock on wood and cross your fingers. But, though the little prince has not been sick he has been... a tad difficult this week.

Here's Kristof visiting his new house.

We are completely amazed that KFC is already 6 months old. How did that happen? Wasn't it just last week we were taking him home from the hospital? How did he get so big? Where does time go?
