January 2009 Happy New Year |
|
We had a lovely New Years Eve with the Pearce-Smith family. Followed by a fun Birthday party for little Izzy Pearce-Smith a few days later. And so begin the 2nd birthday birthday parties. Sniff sniff. But all in all 2009 is already shaping up into a fine year. Loved the snow storm despite the inconvenience of not being able to get to my Kristof and abandoning him overnight at the nanny's. But I probably already mentioned that and just need to get over it. So here is our little chapel in the snow :

2008 : Three Christmases and a Happy New Year |
|

Christmas number 1 was with Nana during her visit in November. Christmas number 2 was the weekend before real christmas when santa came and remi, Kristof and Jeanne spent the day opening presents and lounging around. Christmas number 3 was in Agen with mami Sylvie and Papi Alain. Kristof got a stomache virus on the 23rd so I'm glad we celebrated in advance. The days before christmas were spent vommitting and not sleeping. Christmas eve was spent in the car trying to make it to the south of france for christmas day. We made it and surprised the family by showing up by car just in time for the big christmas meal instead of arriving by train for desert. |

Well Turkey day came on Saturday here in France since it is not a holiday here. We had a huge dinner with 20 adults and 13 toddlers and babies. Eek. We cleaned out our old Forge and rented a big heater and butchered 2 of our neighbor's turkeys. The few photos I managed to take came out very blurry, probably because I never stopped moving. Run run run! Never did a sit down dinner for so many before and not sure I myself ever sat down but it was great fun and I'm looking forward to next Thanksgiving... a nice intimate dinner with 2 of our closest friends sounds about right! |

Nov 08 : amputations and salutations |
Toy's new dog print Jeanne left the keys in the car, puppy got in car, jeanne closed the door and before she could walk to the driver's door, puppy stepped on the door lock button. Puppy is locked in car. Spare key is in a meeting in Paris and won't be home 'til late. Meanwhile, other dog pulled out the stitches on his amputated "toe" but Jeanne can't take him to the vet as she is locked out of her car.Yes so, life is as exciting as ever. This weekend, Toy had a toe bitten off by the neighbor's dog. Really gross. We found the "toe" in the street outside our front gate but it is not possible to re-attach. So, our little Toy dog is now missing one toe/claw and it is one of the main ones used for balance but he seems to be able to walk ok anyway. When he is not knawing on it and removing stitches. Eew sorry. |

Hip hip horray for Obama! Just had to put in a little note for historic record that today is the day that America elected Barack Obama for president. Words can not express how deeply content I am and excited for the future. This is so much bigger than race, this is finally having hope and trusting America and politics again. The more I learn about him, the more I respect and admire him. Now, have I EVER said that about another american president? Certainly not in the past 8 years.

NOV 2008: I'm cold, I'm wet |
|
Let's see. We had another baby born, Little Rose. What a super cutie! Arnaud and Manu are sleep walking parents now. I try very hard to remember what those first few months were like. Trying to imagine doing all that again. Another second babe is coming as Margaret and Mike have a little brother or sister growing for Alex. And tyan, er, becky is working on her second too. We are thinking about it but, until the house is done, I'm not ready to commit. Kristof is fast approaching the terrible twos and no has definately become his favorite word. Yikes.

Well, it has been a very long time since I have updated. Its not my fault though! We had no Internet for 2 weeks. But I'm back online and on the computer at 2am cuz I've got a migraine and can't sleep. jeesh. Have a cute video of Kristof dancing with his mega bed head afro. Hope I can find a way to put it up here. And Izzy has had a little sister! Here's my first photo of littly Lucie Rose with her daddy. No picture of mummy as I think there should be a law against photographing mom's in the maternity ward.
