We had a lovely New Years Eve with the Pearce-Smith family. Followed by a fun Birthday party for little Izzy Pearce-Smith a few days later. And so begin the 2nd birthday birthday parties. Sniff sniff. But all in all 2009 is already shaping up into a fine year. Loved the snow storm despite the inconvenience of not being able to get to my Kristof and abandoning him overnight at the nanny's. But I probably already mentioned that and just need to get over it.

And here is our little Kristof getting in to the sales spirit. In France the sales happen all at once and only 3 times a year and for I think 2 weeks all stores put all current season items on sale.The first day things are 10% off the last day things are 75 or 80% off but there is never much left by then. So, anyway, all that to say, the only sales we get to do this year are at the grocery stores. Mainly because somebody did a bit too much Christmas shopping.But here is Kristof getting into the sales spirit with his shopping cart.

On other news, for those who have not heard the gorey details, uncle parker had another surgery yesterday after his christmas day motorcycle accident. He is too far away (living in taiwan again) for us to help or hug and I am too broke to help with the 20K surgery that his insurance won't pay for. Ouch. Its a crazy world we have created. Motorcycles and insurance are 2 ideas that just aren't working. Anyway we send cyber hugs to poor parkie.
